x5M Pricing

I just got quotes on a $98,100 spec 2013 X5M. Have two quotes from dealers in my area. Rough numbers $3500 -$4000 discount plus $750 in BMW loyalty from each. Spread between dealers is only $500. One indicated they had 7% margin the other 6.5%.. What's the real story.

Anyone done significantly better. BMWConfig.com would indicate nearly 10% margins on this car leaving nearly $4000 on the table for the dealer. Thanks in advance.

I definitely heard the 7% rule of thumb from a couple dealers including the one I purchased from. They were willing to do a no-negotiation 50% of margin discount based on this 7% so sounds like you are right in line.

I was able to negotiate my trade-in up to cover their inflated price, but the 7% was in line with BMWconfig on my 35d.

Its possible that on higher priced vehicles the margin is bigger, and I would point that out for sure. Make sure they know you are an informed but reasonable buyer. Also make sure you know all the programs you are qualified for, check the ask-a-dealer forum if any confusion regarding current incentives.

M cars in general are a real conundrum in pricing, and dealers are all over the place on X5M pricing. There were some crazy hot deals at year end for X5M in stock! Net of incentives mine was just under invoice. PM me for details if interested.

My 2013 was spec'd a little over $98k but with December 2013 incentives, I was able to go it for $90k.

If ya wait you could score a better deal since they're gomna be ending m production before the rest of the lineup

This is basically the same deal I got (I got a little more off, but very similar deal). OP the profit margin over invoice is roughly 7.5%. So you have that to work with. What deal you get will have alot to do with the availability at your dealer. You might want to reach out to fest sponsor Greg Poland. I was all set to buy from him, but I had a trade in and my local dealer beat Carmax making it a better deal to buy from them rather than buy from Greg and sell my trade to Carmax. I am sure Greg would give you a great deal. Lastly, on a 98k MSRP x5M I think your best deal will be about 6k maybe 6.5k off for a sale price of about 91.5k-92k. Again, it depends on your dealer. I am not so sure. These things are not high volume cars. If he waits too long there is a good chance he will not be able to find one. My local dealer is a very, very high volume M dealer and they have 4 in stock. That is the most I have seen any dealer have. Most dealers get 1 or 2 a year.

I agree. I thought about ordering one to spec but the year end deals were too good to pass up. Greg Poland offered me an outstanding deal on an in-stock X5M but sadly it was white, and we have way, way too many white vehicles already.

I sincerely doubt there will be screaming deals on X5M's during the buildout. I'm guessing we'll not see any new model X5M's 'til late 2014 or early 2015 - so if you want one you may only have a few months left to score a deal.

Totally dude! I was so down to build one but there were deals I'd be stupid to pass up. Yes, mine is AW lol!

I think I made out pretty well on my deal.

$103k - USAA discount - USAA rebate - BMW Apps - Holiday Cash - Owner Loyalty = $92.5k or $2.5k below invoice.

Of course I actually wanted AW, but the deal was too good, so I got CB instead.

Yes, I learned to Never Again Volunteer Yourself or NAVY for short.

USAA was pretty easy to sign for up for online. I then just used their car buying service and they contacted three dealers, which in turn contacted me. The first one said he would give me USAA pricing- no questions asked. They didn't have the truck with the options that I wanted, but they were able to get one from about 60 miles away. I also got USAA's auto insurance which was priced pretty reasonably.

That's indeed a great deal and about what Greg Poland's white X5M would have cost me. But, AW 650, AW 750, white Dodge truck, white airplane, white motorcycle.... too much white My last M5 was CB and I had a 550 6-speed that was CB; I guess I'm a creature of habit.

I might be wrong; there could be some smoking hot deals on the last few X5Ms from the E70 buildout but at some point dealers will recognize they have a scarce unit and not make a skinny deal.

You guys get these over the Porsche since they look better? For me that would be the only reason,Porsche all around is a way better car.Its just ugly

That's interesting, I had a Cayenne Turbo, last generation. It was fast but it had no soul. No real exhaust note and it rattled over railroad tracks with 21 inch wheels. I wasn't impressed at all.

That is nice. Mine is the same. Alpine white over black with aluminum trim. The best look for this car IMHO.
