E34-540i Faded consul top

Does anyone know of a repair/polish to Restore the Wooden area
around auto shifter, I have only ever seen badly faded or even the
top layer peeling off, Bad "UV rays down under"...regards Robb

Not to be sarcastic but have u tried sanding an staining or clearcoating urself? Other than that any body shop could probably more than happy to help u.. At a price.

Be Careful. The wood veneer is very thin. If the wood is ok you could strip off the clear coat, sand then stain and then recoat the clear. Otherwise, clean off everything back to metal and seek out some nice grained wood veneer and clear coat again. I have used a product here in oz called Glass Coat. A two pack which is also self levelling. I bought it from Bunnings if you have them there. Otherwise try the wreckers.

I seen an episode of wheeler dealers and they refinished a veneer interior part. They just bought a piece of veneer, trimmed it up, glued it down and put on the proper clear/varnish. Looked pretty easy actually
