Impossible to estimate. It all depends on what specific production slot YOUR DEALER has been allocated.
It is not a 'first in first out' process. Each dealer gets an allocation of X slots per month. If they have sold X slots by the time you order, YOU get a slot in the next month... The dealer will say "we are waiting for BMW' but the real truth is that they typically know the allocations and have assigned you an order slot- but BMW doesnt assign a productuoin number until close to production. This 'slop' in the process allows dealers to 'manage' customer expectations by shrugging and saying 'its bmw' Lots of posts on this topic. A

Once your car is in production typically about 6 to 8 weeks.

This seems a little extreme... unless its going to Canada or the West Coast I would expect it much quicker than that from production start.
As ard stated thought, knowing the build week is the first puzzle piece, he's also quoted transportation times in some other threads, so you can search on that (guessing your transportation will be short given your location). Jay

People's reports of their personal experiences are useless.
It takes about a week from actual start of production to 'leaving the factory'. 3-4 days to build, 1-2 days in paint, 1-2 days waiting for transport. Give or take. Then add 4-7 days to east cost, 10-14 days for west coast. THESE times are predictable and stable- they will vary based on part availability or unique situations..but BMW basically turns the crank and X5s come out the end.....the critical unknown is "when will BMW start my car"...AND THAT is entirely in the dealer's hands. 10 people can order the same day and get 10 different delivery dates- without knowing what YOUR dealer has in terms of allocations, you are pissing in the wind. IMO

Im gonna assume here, but the OP is from Ye Old England.
So all the post up above are irrelevant. Yes the cars are being produced faster, but it all lingers upon how the shipping side of the equation works out, which only previous European, specifically UK buyers could possibly chime in about.

I placed my order on 2/16 and was advised it would be about 4 weeks but it may be here sooner. I will post back when I pick it up to report on actual timeframe.
