brake light fail

Hitting "check" on my 96 328iC gives me the "Brake light fail" message. I found the unlit bulb, bought a new one. ReplaCed it (correctly) and the light still won't come on. I switched the bulb with the working side and it came on the other side. So its not the bulb. Is their any test or wiring diagram I can.trace to find any poss. Short? If you've run into this and know a likely solution please advise

Before I change to the after market LED brake light, I keep getting break light fail again and again, i found out that the light bulb hosing is not working right, that's the real problem, you can find the holder on ebay or CL.
Well, here is my suggestion, try to change the light holder, now you put your new light bulb into your parking light holder, using the parking light holder then plug it into the break light then see if it works.
