Driver Side Window - had a little trouble going back up

1st time this has ever happened to me. I lowered my window to show my ID to get into work this morning. It made a little noise going down this time...kind of like a creaking sound on old wood floors. Well I go to put it back up, it makes the same sound, goes up about 5 inches, then automatically goes back down. So I try a second time and it does this again, this time it goes up a little further. I wait about a minute and try a third time and it goes all the way up.

So now I'm wondering - what would cause this? It is only 25 degrees right now outside. Would that have an impact at all? Has anyone had this issue or something like it?

I want to be proactive and not get stuck with the window down - especially where we have another 12" of snow predicted for this coming weekend.

Thanks....
