I agree about sponsors and I always try to use them first but sometimes shipping charges is the reason I'm looking around...

I do sell stuff on eBay and Amazon and I know how much it cost to ship small box with some screw and it's not minimum ~$10-$13... I know that they need to have some profit but well, it's my money that I earn and I need to have them well spend as well.

As I said, I always start research from sponsor websites but very often ended on eBay for much better pricing... Sorry if this not in allign with forum rules...

Sure makes for a much better way of holding the floor up. I use to use my head and then got a wood stick until I installed the shock. I understand the X6 comes with the shock already mounted from the plant in Greer.

Found replacement

Bought Dee Zee DZTBSHOCK1 Tool Box Shock on Amazon for 20. Same specs as bmw shock except 80 lbs instead of 73 lbs. Works great and the cover is easy to open and close. Has a damper on it so it doesnt slam open or shut. It is 10.5 inches long like the bmw one. I think one up to 12 inches would work also with no problem since there is room to open a bit more. Bought the bracket for 20 on ebay and screws at Home Depot for 2 dollars. Just thought I would put my comments since I can't seem to find a bmw shock less than 50 online with shipping. Not much but $30 savings and Amazon prime shipping is better than having a fancy logo nobody sees under the cover.
