Time for a tune up?

Hello. I am incredibly new to BMW and the Bimmerfest forum. I have been doing research on my own but could definitely use some insight and advice from fellow BMW owners like yourselves. Please excuse my ignorance; I am learning as I go.

I just recently financed on a 2008 335i E93. I can definitely see why many people are in love with BMW because I am simply in awe with mine. It is a used vehicle with one previous owner and when I first received the car, it had 26xxx miles on it. It now has 30xxx, and I know people say once you have reached 30k miles, you should bring it in for a tune up? What exactly does this entail and how much for such services? I understand it can vary.

No kiddin' - the E9x is among the most investigated, taken apart, modded, and in general x-ray'd vehicles around. If you want to investigate, just plant your bad self in front of a keyboard and GO!

OK I'll getcha started: Your car's computer, monitoring and impressive number of things, will tell you when you need maint. There's no dipstick if you haven't noticed - the oil level read system involves 3 diff sensors and a computational algorithm. I'd like to know how their capacitance sensor electronics are implemented!

There is no "tune up" needed per se ..... I believe your owners manual will say spark plugs due at 45,000 miles.

Drop by a BMW dealer, make friends, and see if they will read the service records on your car from the key fob.
