Activating Bluetooth
Good Morning-
Several years ago, someone sent me instructions that actually worked and I'm hoping someone will jump in again. Unfortunately, I can't find them... I need to activate my Bluetooth function in my 2005 X3 and then link it to my phone. The telephone owners manual is useless and yes, I do have my four digit code. Thanks. Kim |

The instructions will differ somewhat from phone to phone. Here's the instructions for an iPhone.
Link: http://ipod.about.com/od/iphonehowto...th-Pairing.htm Note: You shouldn't have to do anything on the BMW side as the signal is broadcasted when the car is started (it may or may not work with the key on just the power position). All I had to do was enter the code on my iPhone to get it to work. |

Yes
I believe it you are speaking about the one in the lift gate. If so you have to remove the plastic panel. It has plastic fasteners in various random places. You might want to get a body shop to do it as they have special tools for prying these things apart.
Two warnings, use a BMW bulb with the sliver bases, not an Autozone brass one, the resistance isn't right and it won't last. While getting the bulb, order some of those plastic fasteners as you are liable to break some of yours. This is a real pain in the neck. I had the BMW dealer do mine and I had to go back 3 times to get it to quit rattling and making noise.
