Fidelity Warranty

Does anyone know where you can purchase a fidelity warranty? I read about them, and already have been spending quite a bit on my 2003 760Li, I would like a warranty if possible. Thanks

Then get the super platinum top of the line one. Mine was 10K for my 760 and they've covered pretty much everything!

I called them, my car is a 2003 and has 87k miles - it has to be from 2004 at least with less than 65k

Are you sure? Almost every warranty company I called told me they wouldn't cover the v12. I could get a 1-year, 12,000 mile warranty for $6,000 but that didn't seem worth it. I'm pretty sure you'll come out ahead even if you have to pay for some repairs.

there a lot of other parts to this car than a motor and tranny

even the labor charge to change a motor and tranny will be in the THOUSANDS

at this time, if u dont already have a 760, i would not purchase one for any money

unless its an F02

Oh I Agree with ya..that's kind of my point..if I have to pay out an additional $10k...it's definitely gonna be in another RIDE!
I've invested about $3700 (in repairs) in mine and it's already on the damn chopping blocks!

Yea its so many out there...its confusing for many....just research and go with the one that best suits your wallet....

Fidelity has spent over 40K in repairs over the last few years.

FYI New trans through the dealer was almost 12K!
Valley Pan Coolant Leak - 8K!
Nav Screen Flickering - 4k!

That's 22K in dealer repairs right there!

I guess I dont really have a problem with a $10k Warranty for maybe the first year after a manufacturer's warranty runs out,
but to spend that much consistently and only reap the benefits every now and then just doesnt make sense to me.
If you've paid $10k for 3 or 4 yrs and they've paid out $30-$40k over the same time period,
where is the advantage? Hell YOU"VE already paid for the repairs technically anyways.
Paying the warranty companies versus the dealer or mechanic just doesnt pan out to me. Just my feelings on it.

Financially it's been better for me to get the warranty as the company had paid out 3-4x the initial cost. If I had invested 10K and hedged on repairs I still wouldn't have made 30-40K for the repairs. Plus the warranty company has paid for loaners, negotiated with dealers on actual repairs (For example replace 1 sensor instead of a whole assembly), etc.

Basically I can bring my car into the dealership and not have to worry at all about the repairs. It's nice considering how many times I've had to go back to the dealer for stupid repairs or major repairs, like my waterpump failing on me most recently.

If I had a 750 I'd probably still get the warranty. A new trans is probably the same price with labor for a 750. You get that and you are ahead of the game on the warranty with 1 repair.

@ csmeance..I definitely see your point. In a way it could be compared to car insurance or life insurance, I suppose.
But if you'r spending $10k annually and getting anything less in repairs then it just doesnt wash.

I spent the 10K only ONCE when I bought the car!!! I don't have to spend it annually and it covered my car until 110K or 2014! However every time I do go, I have to pay a 50 dollar deductible which is change compared to some of the repair bills.

Ahhhh! Ok..well that's a lot more conceivable to me , no doubt. I wasnt understanding the concept, my badd.

So lets say you have to repair two HPFP - can you buy the warranty knowing this?

All warranties I've seen exclude preexisting conditions, so it wouldn't be covered unless you want to defraud the warranty company. But, most warranties will cost more than two HPFPs anyway, so it wouldn't really be worth it.

As long as there are NO service records saying that your HPFP are a problem like your car sputtering along and the BMW dealer even SAYING that it might be the HPFP then they won't cover it.

If YOU know they need to be replaced and you buy the warranty, then you are kinda doing the wrong thing by defrauding them as they exclude preexisting conditions. However beware that there is a mileage/time requirement IE your car can't magically break down within the first 1000 miles or 30 days. So if your HPFP's are on the way out and you can't put on the 1K miles then you might be SOL.

In all honesty, I'd buy the warranty either way due to the nature of the transmissions on these cars and how much it is to fix them. Even if you have to dish out the money for the HPFP's, there are bound to be issues such as a coolant leak or oil leak that will be a considerable amount of money. I don't know how long you are going to keep the car, but you can also use the warranty to help make the car more sellable and as well you can cash it in with the company if you decide to trade it in for the remaining term. So if you keep the car for 2 years out of a 4 year warranty, they will refund you half the money you paid for it.

I am considering an extended warranty on my '06 760Li (18,000 miles) only because of the age of the vehicle, not the mileage. I do all maintenance/repairs myself, but the parts costs can be high and I have a ton of older vehicles that need attention constantly. Local BMW dealer qouted $2600 for United Auto Care "Power Train Plus" package that includes the HPFP's. I was told that the car would have to be inspected before the warranty could be purchased and the inspection cost would be applied to the warranty cost. If problems found, those items would be excluded from the warranty contract. Not sure how to proceed...

How long is that warranty, months/mileage? That's a much better price that I've ever seen for a 760. I'd seriously consider it.

3 years, 36k miles whichever comes first.
