Dont do it. Your going to have a high chance of vibrations.

San...why do you think vibrations?
I mean if the adapter is installed correctly and flush against the hub then theoretically it should be a flush extensions of the hub....no?

Is there a set standard for the adapter on siZe????
A wheel guy I'm good friends with took a lot of calculations and said I would need a 28mm in the front and a 41mm in the rear....does this sound about right????

just remember that 28mm spacer is an inch or so. ****most off the shelf pcd conversion adapters are an inch if you dont get them custom made.

My guess is most of the people on this forum don't have much experience with wheel adapters.
I have been running them on multiple cars for years now, and have not had any issues. Everyone on the Audi forums told me I was ruining my brand new 60k car, but I had no issues and was able to run a much more interesting wheel. Adaptec is my favorite company for adapters, custom built to your specs. I think they can go as small as 22-23mm for adapters. I think you may run into rubbing issues with the wheels above, but the only way to know is to measure. Google calculating offset and go from there, but at et+2 front and rear that is more agressive than most people here run. I run a more aggressive offset, something like et 0 front et-4 rear, but my wheels are 20x10 rear 20x9 front. I have no rubbing issues and have factory camber, with my fenders rolled. With camber you may be able to fit them, but if you are new to wheel fitment this may be a bit over your head. |

Hey GPDenver
I posted the calculations my wheel guy sent me. He says they should work. Can you double check and let me know what you think????

Sounds good man! Yeah the only thing I wasn't sure of was the space the adapter added l. My wheel guy said with the 28mm from and 41mm rear it'll be just about perfect.

Based on the picture you posted above it looks like your new specs will be 22x9.5 et +8.5 front and 22x10.5 et +8. I don't run 22", but sounds more aggressive than the typical 22" for our cars. Will look great if you don't end up rubbing.
Ask all the 22" guys on the forum to post op their specs, find a set you like and copy the offset. Last edited by GPDenver; 02-24-2013 at 12:38 PM. |
