Today I replaced my brakelight switch and my passenger side now works but my drivers side does not...

The brake circuit switch shouldn't make a difference regarding left & right. Check your connections, and socket & bulb contacts.

Yeah well last night I had no brake lights at all. I think my socket on the drivers side just has bad contact points, at least i got 2/3 now I guess better than none haha

Suspension question. I bottom out too often in the rear. I know I need to raise it a little, but is it bad to trim the bump stops. Say I cut them in half so the shock would still never fully compress?

I have never heard about doing this before tonight and have no idea if it's a common thing.

If you're hitting the bump stops on your shocks often, then I think you have another problem that needs to be looked at. What is your shock/spring combo? Also, are your shocks blown or springs cracked?

Struts are AST. Springs I really don't know. I need to change them to something stiffer but that won't be that soon

Well there's your problem. My guess is that you have shock springs. Look into H&R sport springs... They're cheap.

Well they are the ones with adjusters. And it's not like I'm sitting on the ground either, it's just a moderate drop. Seems like the only option is to just raise it with this suspension.

Dropped the X5 off and the shop....praying its cheaper than I expect

well my bump stops are shot. a recommendations other then the stock foam or what ever they are. mine are cracked and separating.

Yea that's what I was thinking. 500 was the stiffest available when I bought the set. Would 650 be too much for a somewhat daily car?

I don't know Travis.

I have stock racelands and I cut a coil off.... And I don't bottom out that much. But keep in mind I always ride on the bumpstop at my summer height. I literally ride on my bumpstops.

If your worried about the shocks get some kyb shocks for a e30. Mounts are all the same just different travel heights.

I really like these shocks so they're staying. I think I might just raise it anyways to allow for the wider tires.

I'm about 1/4" from my stops right now. I only hit them over big bumps but I'd like to avoid them all the time.

Nothing wrong with the stock ones Vikki. They last for many years, and they're cheap:

Brad valveing won't help his case. It's a case of piston lenghth inside the shock and travel amount.

Only option if bottoming out and worried is e30 shocks
