USAA offering up to $2000 rebate

If you are a USAA member or former military you can get up to $2000 exclusively from USAA above and beyond any dealer discounts.

Please explain how this works. Does USAA need to contact the dealer? They don't just send you a check after you've bought the car.

My dealer took care of it after I showed him my USAA car insurance card. He made copies of it and immediately discounted $1,000 from my 328i price. I took possession of the car on the very same day. BTW - Car is being financed by BMW.

I undertand it has gone up to $1,500...great deal!
