Rear bumper - access door / spare tire cover

Hello
Yesterday, my wife got a flat tire in our X3 - the tow truck came to put on the spare tire and she went in to the shop to get the tire repaired. Last night I noticed that the lower part in the center of the rear bumper is missing. It seems to be a panel that covers where a hitch would go. I have no idea what this is called - is this an access door?. Can somebody tell me the name of this part . (and ideally OEM part number) so I can get a replacement assuming I cannot locate the original?

Thanks!

That's it exactly.

Bumper hitch flap with fixing clamp. Part no. 51123400949 for 2004 - 2006 models.

Looks like it's easier to locate one for the 2007+ model, but here's one for a 2004:

I have a 2007 X3 and just cut mine this afternoon for the hitch. I found part of the numbers 51-12-3-416-2?? on a piece I cut off.

It looks like there is one on Amazon and the full part number is 51-12-3-416-243.

No tools are needed to remove or put on, it just pops into place.

Get the right one for your model year - the 2007 one is quite different.
