Homelink programming problems with Genie

Looks like I found the problem programming my homelink for the Genie opener. It does not work with the small keychain remote. You have to use the larger remote and it probably is an indication that it needs a stronger signal to capture the code in the first step, so fresh batteries may also be a solution. For the actual programming, follow the two step process and it works fine. G

Wow a Genie garage door opener....I haven't heard that name in 20 years!
