Z3 Roadster (E36/7) parking brake grip has split

The parking brake grip has split due to age. It is made of plastic with a wood grained appearance. Parts suppliers want to sell me an entire lever mechanism; this is really a waste. Are there any sources for the plastic grip and can the original be removed?

You can order a new handle from dealer or online vendor. Online will be much cheaper even with shipping.

There are also many aftermarket ones from many suppliers. They are usually made of aluminum or stainless.

I bought an OEM wood one off of ebay.

The old one can be removed with a heat gun. Just heat it up enough to soften the adhesive and pull really hard.

Mine just pulled right off with a firm grip.
