2003 X5 Starting problems

I'm having a problem with my 2003 BMW X5 4.4.

Since January 1st, I realized that something is draining my battery intermittently. When I leave it overnight (or for periods of 8hrs) it will not start SOMETIMES. Sometimes its fine, but other times it won't start.

I have replaced the battery, checked the alternator and the starter which are all fine. I have an after market deck connected to an Amp, but I have had that in the truck for over 5 years and never had a problem with it. Regardless, I had someone look at the wiring and ensure that it was done properly and it was. I disconnected the amp to see if that was draining the battery, but the truck still did not start.

When the battery is drained, sometimes it is completely dead, the doors will not unlock and other times the doors will unlock, but as soon as I put the key in the ignition and try to start it, it clicks and won't turn over, then the battery dies right away.

I thought it had something to do with the automatic lights, because, once when it wouldn't start, I turned the truck off and the head lights stayed on. I was also getting a warning to check rear lights, I changed the lights, the light sockets and still have the issue.

I park the truck underground, so weather isn't an issue.

I recently read about the BMW recall regarding the battery cable connector and I'm going to ask my mechanic to look at that.

But any insight to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Is your fan on you climate control turning off when you shut the vehicle down? This is symptoms of a bad FSR. But before you go there, you need to listen for the fan blowing at a certain speed with the vehicle off, or see if you have fan control speed on your climate control.
The battery recall doesnt affect you, but you can get it looked at anyway.
