Benz C300 Rant

C300 has been gone. The new CRV is actually pretty nice. A lot easier putting the car seat in and out. Overall much better suited for the mom lifestyle.

We test drove the CRV. Wife hated the exterior styling and lack of torque.

New styling was hated by me very badly last year when I firt saw it. It grew on me and I actually love it now. As for the torque... the 5spd auto is very nice to drive unlike most crap autos today on the market that upshift way to early. Plenty of torque for what my wife does. 5yr cost of a CRV vs 5yr cost of a X3? Torque ain't so bad... lol.

Can't disagree with you. It's my wife's car though.

Mercedes float, as much as I like the looks of some of them, I go for a test drive and after feeling how light the steering is and how you said you feel no connection between the road and car and unsafe; that's exactly how I feel when it comes to Benz. BMW for life, or may be I ll switch to an Audi.

Car companies still use five speed autos? I mean perhaps in the econobox line since the tech is from the mid 90s...

Just went from MB to BMW myself and every day find new reasons as to how massively inferior MB is, be it in design, engineering, etc. It's continuously shocking and actually sill frustrates me really.

^K-A.... that F10 is gorgeous!!! And I'm glad others agree with me here and I just wasn't out in left field by myself regarding the MB complaints I had. Or I would start to think I'm going nuts. Over the weekend I drove down to my parent's house and got my E90 335i 6spd (see signaure) and it's beena bout 4 months... OMG. Lovely ride home. I love my E90 & E39 even though they drive and feel differently. I'd like to have just one practical vehicle and that would be a F10 528 Auto or a F150 Ecoboost 4 door. But I can't part with my BMW's I currently have!!


Yes, Honda still uses a lot of 5psd autos. It's one of the only brands that does, but guess what they have lower emissions and better mpg's than their competition with 6spd's. I like Honda when sampling from the generic japanese brands; Honda, Nissan, Toyota. Is it a BMW or Lincoln? No. But it's very economical and practical. and Honda generally speaking are pretty safe for their class. apples vs apples.
