1991 M5 pre purchase Q's

Hi all,

Looking at a 91, 177k on the clock.

OK, I normally search, but my time is limited, and am throwing myself on the mercy of the forum.

What are the real obvious?

The price is $7700.00, so I am suspct to begin with, but an extensive PPI will be done, regardless.

At that price you can't expect perfection.

would be nice to have good compression and leadkdown numbers.
everything else is just maintenance. if you do your own work, it's not deal breaker. if you have the dealer change your oil, I'd suggest you search for an M5 with full maintenance history.

Have a compression test done, cooling system pressure test, and check the suspension.
