2005 BMW X5 4.4i awd

well the other day I was driving in the snow and all the sudden my truck has this clunk while braking and as I come to almost a complete stop it feels like something in the front is gonna fall out . It accelerates fine and transmission shifts fine . its only while im breaking or turning slightly to one direction or the other . its drives fine on the highway and makes no extra noises . It has 123k miles . I need your help please what could this be . I put it on a lift today and there was nothing loose that i noticed . Please anybody that knows what this could be Im asking for help..................
