Looks like we lost one of our original 335D owner's on this site.

I don't recall his name, but he had a blog and all he could talk about was how many miles he drove and the great MPG he was getting.

Anybody rememeber his name? I tried locating him once, I think he had a body shop in Kentucky or Tenessee???

Something like the Lost Highway?

Anyway, if he's still got his 335D I'm sure must have the record breaker for miles.

Edit: It was ChrisDRidley, Road Warrior, Chatanooga, TN. He had a 2009 and a 2010 335D. Dropped off the map back in 2010.

Up until very recently my daily commute was usually anywhere from 110-170 miles a day and six days a week. Did that for around 12 years. Killed many a car with that commute and spent many pennies on repairs and maintenance.

I'm at just over 52,000 miles on my 2011 that I purchased in late January, 2012. So far so good!

Bought my D brand new feb 2012. In one year I am at 32k. I am in sales and drive 30k to 35k per year. Will probably have to buy extended warranty and service in the next 6months

I remember him. He bought his wife a 335d because he liked his own car so much. He was a high milage driver driving hundreds of miles every day.

Extended maintenance, not warranty. So far, though, anything that has come up, I've gotten BMW to cover. My harmonic balancer was wobbly, and causes the alternator belt to come loose, so that was a little messy. I've had three sensors replaced, and a few other minor things done, but the harmonic balancer was the biggie.

No regrets. Car still runs like a champ, and I still run it on canyon runs, drags, and on the track. Still working towards some additional mods that I want to get done (namely, exhaust and FMIC, and potentially an LSD), but California leaves a lot to be desired for companies willing to do work on the car.
