06 E60 SMG pump fail

I got transmission failure when i was driving on the highway. Took it to a mechanical shop they told me i need a new smg pump, which is 1,200 labor included.
Is that a good price?
Also my CD stuck in the CD player, it would come out, is there anyway i can fix it without replace the whole thing?

Thanks

Holy hell. Jump on that. I'm not 100% sure on the e60, but I know the e46 style M3's cost around $3k.

Exactly, it seems too good to be true for that price. The non-M SMG is identical to the M5 SMG tranny, just the M5 one is capable of handling more power. On the M5 this is a $5k repair.

I had to have mine replaced last April. I have a great Indy that charged me less than $800.00. Unfortunately, the pump died again a few weeks ago, but all was covered under warranty.

It is a major PITA when the pump goes isn't it? Mine did it at a stoplight on a busy Saturday morning. You can't even push it as it locks in gear.
