bimmernoob1's Question!

howdy guys
my name says it all. i know nothing about bmws and i may be posting this in the wrong place but im looking for any help i can get. im looking to buy a 1992 525i with the inline 6. manual transmission. 200100 miles. i dont know anything else because i havent talked to the owner. the current owner is asking 3000 for the car. im not looking to spend anywhere near that. ive read about some of the overheating issues of the car and was wondering if buying this car would be a good investment at a lower price? i dont have my heart set on this car but i would love a bmw as a beater car that i wont spend a lot on but that will safely get me through college.
any help will be appreciated!
