528e vin # problems

I have a 528e and i am having problems deciphering what info from the vin is most accurate. Some places i check the vin tell me i have an 87 528e (including the DMV) and others tell me i have an 86 528e manufactured in october. Where can i get the most accurate info. The last 7 digits of my vin are 9654206, and from what i gather i believe my 528e was manufactured in Germany. Any body who has any info please lemme know...

Both realoem.com http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do?vin=9654206 and a reliable russian site http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/ indicate that your 528E was manufactured in Oct 1986.
Not sure what site said '87.

it was made in 86 as a 87 model.

+1 They usually start manufacturing the next model year in Sept of the previous year, so its entirely normal to have an 87 made in 86.
