Has anyone tried this?

Neither of those are going to work on a Z3 2.8...

Do you mean that it will not work on any Z3, or just that one?

Mr. Forbes is too modest, his diff/subframe reenforcement kit is the preferred solution for the Z coupe & roadster. It's safe to say he's familiar with the Z3 chassis. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/randy-forbes/15/79/347

I know all that. And I see now that Randy said 2.8 just because the OP listed that car in his sig. I was just wondering if the activeautowerke kit might be of some value on my low stress 1.9. Is the answer still no?

Our rear suspension is basically E30 vintage, so E36 and E46 parts are unlikely to even fit.

So, that is the question. I have emailed them to ask if it will fit on a Z3. If so, evidently it will be better than what it replaces.

It's not going to fit your car either.
The 1.9 has an even smaller differential case (than a 6 cyl Z3), so the the E-36 dual ear differential cover swap isn't an option. Reinforcing the trunkfloor and doubling the single ear is the only solution, if your car is affected.

http://store.activeautowerke.com/act...--dsb-p67.aspx Nobody seems to have looked at the link to offer an opinion on whether it is worthwhile and fits a Z3. |

Active Auto Werke has replied:
"... Sorry but it does not fit the Z3, only fits E36 M3 US model." |
