Climb to the Clouds 5, June 29 in the White Mountains of NH

Hi All,

Some of you may have attended in the past, and some of you may never have heard of it. But if you are interested in a fun event, where bunch of BMW owners get together to drive around some gorgeous roads, drive up a mountain (without rails), raise money for charity, and live the status life (at least for a weekend), then hop on over to the e90 forums and check out

I'm dropping my car off in Munich in May 21st. Taking delivery at the performance center, I don't think I'll have my car by then. Bummer

Hopefully I will be back in Boston by then. If so, I will definitely be there. Florida is devoid of good driving roads. I need mountains!

I had a great time in my M-Sport a few years back (photo) but times have changed.

If there are any E90's going, I need assurance that they are in line behind my F30 at all times and that if I am on line for coffee or the bathroom their drivers are behind me there as well.

Please confirm.

If you would like to keep up with me in a 335, then I can guarantee you that there will be no e90's in front of you. You've seen me drive in a 330, think long and hard before you decide

Keep in mind that a champion racer and Senior Skip Barber Racing School Instructor will be there in an E92.
I don't think he will have a problem keeping up with you.
Whether he will want to or not is debatable.

The 4 cylinder engine and lower weight ensures than an F30 328i is the mechanical superior of any 335i.

Interesting. No different than at sea level.

I see your ED doesn't happen until May. Break-in period doesn't call for steep mountain climbing, sorry. Looks like I'll still be the only F30 making the run.

Considering we're in 2nd gear the whole way up and down and never break 40 MPH, the advantage shifts to those of us used to driving at slow speeds.

I'll have the requisite 1000 well before bear notch. Sides, Bear Notch is not about the engine size, the weight, or the torque - it's all about how close can you ride to the person in front of you utilizing nothing but 3rd and 4th gear. No brakes!

The F30 328i is so blazingly fast, I'll have to keep her in 1st gear just to avoid going 90 MPH and running over other cars on the way up. Has to do with the twin-turbo powerplant, perfect balance, and low weight, things you can't understand.

If your car is that Estoril Purple thing, not only do you need to be behind me but you need to be more than 3 car lengths back so I don't have to stare at it in the rearview the whole time. My friend's mom always used to make us cream cheese and jelly sandwiches, all that purple does my stomach in, can't stare at an M-Grape Ape for such a length of time.
