I tried re-downloading the files and I keep getting an error that the USB is not a recognized format in my computer.

Any ideas?
No it worked perfectly for me and I was downloading the files from both websites.

The size for my disc image file is...30,670,848 kb.

Make sure you use 7zip to extract the disc image file. Also make sure the format of your USB stick is FAT32

My F02 build date is 3/09 and map update works just fine - also, when it was updating it still allowed me to see the maps and navigation options. I started the upgrade just before I drove to work and as soon as I started to drive the navigation map screen replaced the updating nav screen.

Got mine updated today. I noticed after the update that the software version is not being displaced. Anyone checked the version after the update?

You can see in the first post in this thread a photo taken of the updated software version so yours should look similar. After the update you are suppose to reboot not turn the system off for 10 minutes. I would check that you have a clean install like a couple of other posters did and reinstall.

I definitely recommend doing this as the updates from year to year are definitely noticeable, even in urban environments like LA.
How did you get the 2nd dvd to burn? it keeps saying that there isn't enough space on my dual layer 8.5 GB dvd. Did you delete any of the folders?

*update.
Nevermind. I just checked the second website and found the smaller iso file.

Maybe im naive , but can I ask why this code needs to be secret and paid for? Seems like everyone is just getting the same code and instructions?

Instructions are the same but i believe that the code you buy is according to your vin.

But lets check that...my code starts with...

K5P6NFZLU***********

If anyone else who bought it and it starts the same then please post the following 6 characters

That's what I thought. The code is a vin calculation so no 2 cars can use the same activation code.

There's a guy on the forum who bought a brand new car and the dealer after 2 weeks still haven't received the code from BMW NA

I found what I needed to do the update here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...igation+update

The direct link to the torrent file is in post #58 of the thread as

Attached Files
BMW_CIC_NAVIGATION_NORTH_AMERICA_2013.torrent.txt (217.6 KB, 27 views)

Download file to USB Stick. (32GB size needed)
Insert USB stick into port in glovebox.
If car recognizes file to upgrade maps, you are good to go.
Get FSC code for your car(e-mail address for Sergej can be found in the thread on e90post)
Enter activation code.
Takes 40-45 minutes to load up maps and reboot system.
Navigation can still be used while update is in progress.
To get back to update progress screen, while on Nav screen, press options button and then scroll for update status and select.
After completing update, remember to remove USB stick, otherwise the next time you start up it will again ask if you want to update the maps.

I was able to update my wife's, 2009 E93 335i w/ 1-31-09 build, my 2009 750Li w/ 4-28-09 build and also my friend's 2010 E64 650i w/ 6-25-2010 build date.

All in all costs less than a tank of gas.

Good luck.

Please just read the thread.
In fact, the post immediately before your post kinda answers your post.

Hey guys.. so I was able to extract the PKGDB folder and CONFIG.NFM file to the root folder on a 64gb FAT32 USB drive. I plugged it into the center console USB on my 2009 750i (5/2009 build date) but it didn't recognize it. I used UltraISO to extract it and not 7-zip, could that be the problem? Any other suggestions are appreciated, or maybe I'm stuck with old maps :-(

Edit: I was able to get it to ask for the code, had usb stick in center console not the glove box. Many thanks!

I installed the files on my USB disk (see pics). Are they the correct size? When I put the disc in the glove box USB port the disc flashed but no update happened. Car build is 06/2009. Thanks.

If this doesn't work is there anything else I can do besides going to the dealer?
