Going in to the dealership tonight to play with the new Nav Pro and iDrive on the 5 series there to see if it's worth the wait for MY14 X3. Would be nice to have the new system which could then be constantly updated with SDK apps and so forth. Anybody have experience on this new setup? |

Jon has posted an excellent ordering guide for the MY14s. Find out what you need and what you want. Find out what new options and packs will be offered. From there price it out. And done. Notes: Expect packages restructured. Expect MSRP and Invoice to increase, and incentives disappear Expect incentives on the MY13 to either stabilize or increase a bit. G luck!

I stopped by a local dealer today to see about 2014 production slots and he showed me what was in the system at the moment. There was an order for a dealer in MI that had a VIN number assigned and was slated to start production in week 14 (April 1st) and two orders from a delaer in NY that had been accepted but had no proudction dates assigned. I am interested in the X328 so I am not sure if that was all he was looking at or if he searched for all X3s. At the end of the visit I am still not sure when production slots are available for the 2014!

I placed an order for a basic 2014 X3 2 weeks ago for wifey with Josh Douglas at Elmhurst BMW. I got a great deal and great service on a painless transaction. I have a production slot for the first week in April. We will have the X3 in the third to fourth week of April.

$200 over US Invoice. BMW reimburses the dealers $850 in holdback money so the dealer still made a healthy profit. I have a confirmed production slot for the first week in April.

Thanks pharding for that information... I was in the market for a 2013 X3 but if I can get the same deal as you, I'm going to go for the 2014 MY. I have a stupid question... the 2014 MY pricing info that Jon posted, that's MSRP? If so, where can I find the invoice price?

Sport Activity Package gone in 2014.. That means no sport seats and paddle shifters unless you get more expensive M Sport Package and you're stuck with limited exterior color. If I include all features I wanted to have in 2013 X3 and configure that for 2014 X3 model, it increases by $1500, and that's without Mineral Silver which took me days to decide.
I need to start all over again...

Typically the LCI arrives on the 4th MY. A model runs a total of 7 years.

The LCI (facelift) is typically released the fourth model year of a production run. A model is produced for a total of seven years before a new model is released. Last edited by Sean; 03-03-2013 at 09:51 PM. |

All dealers (at least in the So Cal) are accepting MY14 custom orders now.
Its strange that the BMWUSA website has still not been updated for 14. |

it is also strange that there are still no pictures out there of the MY 2014 yet either. I ordered mine two weeks ago, which then they told me would be here mid april, and they informed me today it has been assigned a production slot but still not estimated time yet.
On another note, I believe the head up display in the MY 2014 is updated to the full color one. When looking through the ordering codes, found on this forum, of the MY 2014 BMW's the order code is now the same for the head up display on the 6 series and the x3. Anyone else heard/know anything about that? Last edited by bsavage; 03-07-2013 at 05:34 PM. |

Really depends on the model, the 2nd gen E70 X5 had it's LCI the 5th model year. 2007-2010 were pre-LCI and 2011-2013 were the LCI. E90 was the same way.

The E90 (3-Series Sedan) received the LCI for model year 2009, the 4th year of production. Model year 2006 was the first year for the E90. Last edited by Sean; 03-08-2013 at 08:31 AM. |

Model year 2005 was the first year of production for the E90, just not in the US. It only had a 6 year production run in the states, whereas it had a 7 year ROW production run and the LCI occurred in the 5th year of production.

We're OT... Nevertheless, we own two E90s. Production began in March 2005 as a 2006 model. US BMW Centers received demos in May of 2005. 2005 E46 sedans were still sitting on center lots at the beginning of fall '05. Are you stating that BMW AG produced the US E46 sedan along side a non-US E90 sedan prior to March of 2005? If so, it did not happen... The E90 family succeeds the E46 model, and was launched in March 2005. In 2002, Norbert Reithofer and Development Chief Burkhard Goeschel started an initiative to halve the time it took to reach full production of the next generation 3-series from six months to three. First marketed in March 2005, the car quickly became BMW Group's best-selling automobile worldwide, and by the end of the year 229,900 vehicles had been delivered.[10] It is by far the best-selling entry-level luxury car in Canada and the United States. In 2008, the saloon underwent an extensive mid-cycle facelift. In 2010, the coupe and convertible were facelifed as well. Facelifted 3-series are commonly referred to as "LCI" (Lifecycle Impulse) models. Last edited by Sean; 03-09-2013 at 09:13 AM. |

My point is, Europe had 2005 model year, production started in Dec. 2004. Just because the US market decided to launch it as a very early 2006 model, doesn't mean there wasn't a 2005 model year for ROW. If you just go by the US model years, then it only had a 6 year run, not the typical 7 year, it was still LCI'd with only 3 years left in its production cycle.

Is it correct that the 2014 x3 can be pre-ordered starting 4/1/2013?
Last edited by ghostdog1108; 03-18-2013 at 02:49 PM. Reason: incorrect model year |

So I have a question here... So your saying that to start the 2014 MY they will still produce the old body style ? And in June start producing the LCI refresh ? So this brings a different question, will the packages change again in June ?
I still dont understand why the BMW USA website is showing 2013 still ?? Last edited by Durkis; 03-18-2013 at 11:06 AM. |

I agree that two changes in MY14 doesn't make sense. Does that mean we should hold off putting in orders if we can until the LCI in June.

Life Cycle Impulse X3, LCI, will occur with SOP April 1, 2014 as a MY 2015 X3.
