Your car is coming along really nice. So from what I read you are doing an engine swap from a non-vanos to a vanos engine? And you plan on rebuilding the non-vanos engine? If so I'd love to see pictures of the swap and engine rebuild.

Im going to be just replacing the head gasket on the m50 which is in the car now and installing a 30mm eibach
front sway bar and 26mm rear sway bar, xbrace and a 3.93 Limited slip diff. And calling it good for the summer.
I will rebuild the m52 and do the obd1 swap eventually but not right now. I dont have the money time or space to do it the way i want to so im just going to wait till i do. But dont worry i will document my head gasket replacement and all other work i do to the car.

Alright cool I'm very interested to see how every thing plays out. I bought a 93 325i knowing there was coolant in the oil. I pulled the head off and the gasket was a little beat up but no signs of it being blown. I ended up taking the head to a machine shop to get it pressure tested and the guy I took it to found a couple cracks in between an oil journal and a water jacket. So I ended up replacing the head, luckily I found one at a junk yard and picked it up for about 140 bucks. And to my knowledge the head was recently rebuilt. So I would make sure to get that head checked out if you hadn't already planned on it.

Finally saved up enough to order my M3 Rotors, pads, sensors and caliper rebuild kits.

also ordered a head gasket set and head bolts for the M50. so I'll be rebuilding the head soon

Its my brother in laws 83 suzuki gs850L. Pretty nice bike he wants me to buy it but i would rather spend 1200 on my e36

Looking good. It would be saweeeet if you painted the m and stripes with m colors.

Nice. I have new front calipers sitting in boxes that I've been wanting to paint silver or black so they don't become discolored with use. Probably won't get around to it until I replace the rotors and lines, and will do the rear at the same time.

Ya i just ordered just about every brake part i could new. I have new steel braided lines new caliper seals new springs new bushings new rotors pads and all that.

Not sure about the ///M dont think i will paint the colors on there just to keep it more stealthy and stock. Dont really want to ///M it out to much you know...

Got a few little updates. a few more brake parts showed up. got my E-Brake shoes(waiting for spring kit) my front caliper seals(waiting for hardware kit) my rear Caliper Hardware kit(spring, bushings and caps) now all I need is the rear caliper seal kit...

I went to take apart the right front caliper and the PO snapped the bleeder valve screw in the caliper... Great. so eventually found my screw extractor and got it out after bout half an hour.
snagged a new bleeder screw from the old 328(RIP) so now I'll just wait for the rest of my parts. all from Rock Auto. so far they most has shown up in a week. so not to bad

also ripped into my 2.93 Open Diff. and ripped out the gutts. My LSD 3.92 is ready for the swap. apparently any ol. transmission shop an swap the gears for me so I'll start shopping around after I swap the ZF 5 speed.
