playing music from mobile via Bluetooth in X3
Hi All,
I’ recently bought 2012 X3 Xdrive which has idrive, I was told that I can play music from my mobile phone via Bluetooth. So I paired my mobile phone to idrive and I choose the option of telephone and audio and said okay, and when I go to the paired devices I see my mobile name and a music symbol which means I can play audio too from my phone via Bluetooth, that’s what I read in the manual. So now when I play songs on my mobile phone I don’t hear any music from my phone and I see the options where it says its connected to the vehicle audio which a check mark, but I don’t see any music coming from the vehicle and if I take that check mark off then I’m able to hear the music from my phone. I’m missing anything here… how can I hear songs from my mobile via Bluetooth |

It's a two step process - have you done both steps?
(first, setting up the Bluetooth pairing, which you've done) 1. select CD/Multimedia -> Bluetooth audio -> connected -> click on your device. But this just establishes the BT input device of choice; it doesn't move the device's music to the speakers 2. CD Multimedia -> External devices -> select your BT device (phone) - this selects the BT device as the audio to play out of the speakers as opposed to, say, FM, since you could have your phone music available but be listening to FM radio, if you so wanted. This second step might be what's missing. then, make sure the volume is turned up, of course EDIT: I believe there are two kinds of bluetooth connection on the X3, regular BT, and enhanced BT. ALL X3's have iDrive so that doesn't tell you whether you have the enhanced. Only enhanced BT will play audio from a phone; regular BT will only do the phone call over car speaker thing. You might want to check which one you have
