650I Tire Size Question .... advice

2006 650I Coupe Sport, staggard 19" wheels. I realize the stock sizes are 245/40/19 & 275/35/19 But not a huge fan of the low profile. Wife drive the car mostly and would love to feel less bumps and with her driving over pot holes, speed bumps, and railroad tracks, i figured it would be safer on the wheels with a slightly taller profile. dont want to crack or bend a wheel.

Pros and Cons of using 245/45/19 & 275/40/19 (this would be the next bigger profile) maybe adding 1/2" to the current profile.
any problems with speedo calibration? or anything else for that matter?

Those two sizes are both about 3.5% larger than stock, which is more than the typically recommend max difference of 3%. Your speedo will show that you are going about 3.5% slower than your true speed.

At least front vs rear in those 2 sizes are very close to matching in diameter so you probably will not get any ABS or DSC errors.

Personally I would get a set of non-sport package OEM 18" wheels. Tires are 245/45R18 and 275/40R18 and will not cause any speedo issues. As a bonus tires will cost less and weigh less which makes for a better ride. I'm sure you would have no problems finding someone willing to trade you their 18s for your 19s plus cash.

My 2010 650i coupe without sports package came with 4 all season 245/45R18 RF tires. The ride is softer than 19 inch tires. It has the sports suspension, but not the sports seats. It is sporty enough and comfortable for my daily commute. I don't go to track or anything. I may upgrade to staged 18 inch non-runflat tires in summer.

I think the run-flat tires themselves are causing you the issue here. Try first switching to a softer non-runflat tire and I'm sure it will ride much smoother than it does now.

I dropped with Eibach. Will I be able to get a lower profile? Like 275-30-19 for the rear and 245-40-19 for the front? 2. What happen if I go with higher profile like OP stated.

As stated above, ditch the runflats. This will make the ride much softer, & the tires will cost a lot less. Continental DWS is a very good riding & handling tire.

Another good but pricy option for the non-runflats is the Michelin super sports. I've been running them for over a year and they are great. If you want cheaper but decent value go with the hankooks.

Can somebody explain to me abit about tires size?

Example, 275/35/19 . I believe 275 is the width, 19 is the wheel size. 35 is the height to width ratio? I'm not sure if I know about the 35 meaning. Would someone explain to me better?

Btw, so if I go with aftermarket wheels for example, 20" 10.5 offset 20. What tires should I get?

P.S: The question I ask earlier because I found a good deal on a specific size for both Hankook and Yokohama with 275/40/19 and 275/30/19 but sadly no 275/35/19. That's why I'm asking.

So this mean it still fine right. I order a set of 245 40 19 front and 275 40 19 for the rear. I lower with eibach. And sitting on the 19 sport wheels right now.
