Mirrors not working when car is placed in reverse

I have an issue with my mirror, when in reverse only my right side mirror tilts to show the curb the left does not move at all. However the button used to adjust the mirror seems fine and I am able to move it around. Has any one had this issue before and what can I do to fix this. I recently bought the car in Jan with 79k I hope the list of costly repairs is not upon me as yet.

In the interest of full disclosure, I was confused about the same option, but in a different way. I didn't know that the mirror control selector switch is what controlled whether or not the passenger side mirror shifts its position.

And lol @ your response to art

@ atatbl

I dont really use the functions but yeserday my wife was the one that asked and i guess I should have researched before posting and looking like an IDIOT but I am guessing that ArtchredTTU is maybe some how related to Einstein. I guess I should Apologize to him for my novice question.

Just to clarify, the passenger mirror only dips when the mirror selector switch is in the drivers position.
Clear as mud and counter-intuitive.

I wouldn't call him a jackass just for trying to inject a bit of humor.

You're right. He could have been being playful. If that was the case, it was lost on me. I frequent other forums regularly with less mature posters. Generally, when something like that is posted it is not meant to inject humor. It is done to point out a failure. My apologies if it was, indeed, light-hearted.

Internet communication is a fickle mistress.

LOL, true, sarcasm and humor sometimes has trouble coming through in text form.

Like a glass being half-empty or half-full, I guess. But at my age, I like to look on the bright side of things.
