That's a good list you have going there.

I would suggest that look carefully at your coolant system before most everything on that list. If you know it's in tip top shape, then you can disregard. If you don't have records that the coolant system has been overhauled in the last 50-75K miles, I would recommend that that be your first priority.

Overhauling the entire cooling system is pretty basic and easy to do. Parts can be had in the $500-$600 range.

Just my recommendation.

For excellent cheap exhaust, cut out the rear muffler and have a muffler shop weld two pipes next to each other from the resonator back. It

For chips, Joe (Monsignor) knows which are the best.

I would do some Craigslist M3 rims for $200-$400

Spend some time here... http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...e/bad/bad.html for a complete headlight education

Blue bulbs are for show pony's, JMHO

The lights you want are these...

Hella euro smiley's. They can be found used for about $250 a set. With just plain old bulbs the reflectors cast 10x the light of the stock lights in your car. No need for HID or blue bulbs of any kind. This is how you do it right IMO.

My list is fairly short but starting NOW!
alignment. Just put on new tires
Paint part of door that has clear coat issues. Belived to have been repaired by BMW or dealer when new.
Go though interior and chase down squeaks and rattles.
Detail interior and exterior
Replace antifreeze
Replace fuel filter
Change cabin filter and adjust glove box properly
Chase down excessive rear thumping on passenger side. Believe it to be shock mount.
may replace steering tie rods/center link. Never been replaced in 228,000 miles but seem solid?
may recover rear parcel shelf
Have upholstery shop recover my driver's seat. I have extra leather and complete passenger seat covers.
May track down small oil leak. However it may be oil pan or rear seal.

There must be more stuff I am sure.

Small update- Went to the junkyard yesterday and found some parts:
Interior- I got a new dome light (mine wasn't working properly). A new bulb for the cluster because it was not illuminating all of it at night. Left turn signal on cluster repaired. Cable for the OBC.
Exterior- Spring for the fuel door hinge.

Re: e34 project list for this summer

Update-
Hey guys I know I haven't posted in a while but I've started working at a BMW shop so I've been a little educated ;-) .I've just replaced my spark plugs and it runs much smoother now but still idles slightly rought. Most likely the 02 senor. Also, for my speaker issue, we may think its either the amp or the radio that's going bad because we've tested the speeakers and they work fine.

Re: e34 project list for this summer

Little update, yesterday I changed the vaccum and fuel lines. Vaccum lines were dryrotted and I think the fuel line was leaking a bit. Idle is still off a bit and it gets worse after stop-n-go traffic. Guess I still have to get to o2 sensor since that's the code I got on the scanner tool.
