I love the car. I was just looking for something to drive to work everyday. I couldnt find anything that was rear wheel drive and stick shift. they are getting rare (its a sad world out there ). I took a chance on this car and I think I lucked out. someone took really good care of it. an 18 year old german car feels like a 5 year old american car .

what do you think i should do to it?

Glad you asked!

Everyone lowers and does nice wheels! So lift it and do mud tires!

Jk, i do recommend 22$ guage trim rings for your dash i just ordered my 4th set so far (4 cars) for my e34.
I love them. Small detail sounds silly but really classes up what you look at most when you drive. And for the price! Can not lose.

Steering wheels also help, you like me got got worse possible wheel. I just up graded to a sude sparco but m tech 2 or m class 3 spoke sport wheels are usual if you want air bags. I dont!

LSD

You source these from e32 750il.

Your factory 2.83 or 2.93 can be swaped for 3.15 3.46 lsd's they also have open end 3.64

All you need to do is swap the input shafts and its a direct swap. Or take the lsd unit from the diff and use it in any open end if you preffer those ratio's

Im looking for a 3.46 lsd. It is way more common to go with a 3.15 for steet driving in our cars but im an overboard kinda guy.

3.25 is know as ideal. Wish 3.38 was out there!

The rare (204 made) 540i M Sport. 135 of them were manual. They had the same M60/6 speed but got the 3.15 LSD!
So you know its a good idea! The M sport was offered in lue of the M5 for 2 years!

They are basically the same car that we have! With a 3.15. Thats 12% more tq at the rear wheels+lsd

Even having 1 of the 3200 e34 540i / 6 is a BIG deal.. That was the top model available and won many awards for its engine.

Get a muffler, and let that 300 hp 32 valve all aluminum dual over head cam 4 liter v8 sing for you all the way till 7000 rpm then shift and it let start singing again!

Sounds great ads power 6 speed = no drone even just cutting off the old one.
It wieghs like 80+ pnds fyi sound u feel the wieght loss also!

A chip is a super easy way to ad power! 1-300$ depending on brand but mainly removes the top speed limiter..
This car will do an indicated 181 mph in 6 th gear with enough room!!!! Actual 170-175
Euro lights are cheap also! Corners especially

And a german plate belongs on any enthusiest BMW!

Helps us recognize each other!

You all have seen mine!

They are 2009-2011 7 series. I really like the spoke look of these wheels. I believe they are style 96. I'm buying another set and painting them a darker hyper silver.

I actually thought I would have to use spacers for these wheels but they bolted right on. They have a -24 offset and 8.5 wide non staggered. I am going to get some 10mm spacers just for looks but I have to roll my fenders first. I put the car on the aligment rack last weekend and I was in the green for front and rear camber. I'm going to install a rear camber kit on the rear just to straighten them up a bit. I'm still trying to decide between the plate style or the bushings.

My e34 535i m50!

Just bought this last week.. it has a little bit of rust under the cover for the tank.. but other than that a real pretty e34! When i have the money i'll probably replace the rear fender

btw hit the 3 instead of 2 in the headline.. it's a 525..

I LOVE IT, i love the color combo with it on those wheels, but i think i like that steering wheel most of all! air bag sport 3 spoke.. i was sad to say the least when my m tech 1 did not fit being pre air bad! went with suede sparco 368 and e36 adapter hub.. nice but that original yet high end sports feel is lost..

I love the look of my wheel, BUT.. mine feels a tad out of place at times, and suede is actually a really unpleasant texture in my hand..

i bought gloves to make the suede last but got the wrong kind dont like the feel, cant steer with palms .. and i am always afraid to get my dirty hands on it..

Thanks man! Love it too! just the sound of the car gives me goosebumps!

And yea the steering wheel is awesome, but it has a small hole in it, so right now I'm looking for one in perfect condition!

But yea! Love your steering wheel to! But as you said it looks a bit out of place! But your e34 looks amazing! gonna post some better pictures of the inside of my car as soon as i get it of the lift and out in the sun light.
