Try reseting the TPMS or TPM system in the Idrive. But I would head back to the shop tha just did the service.

Do you have a DTC light on as well? (on the dash) If it just happened now, they had to have knocked something off.

yes, the DTC light is on , the emergency brake light, the parking brake light, the works... the shop was a general tire and of course they claim no responsibility. does anyone know of anything that could have been knocked loose that would cause this?

Wheel speed sensor, but that all relates to the TPM. It sounds like the ABS module is bad (which will light all those up). Not sure what to tell you. If the brake sensor was knocked out or damaged I think it would give you the brake warning only. Lets start with which wheel was worked on and why?

If im not mistaken teh brake pad sensors are back right (passenger) and front left (driver). Does your car use TPM or TPMS? I have TPMS so i dont know what teh other style looks like in the menu. While researching my blown ABS module I found many threads relating to bad wheel sensors. (RDC? dont quote me on that though). I know the 2004 came with both types of systems.

I can almost 100% say thats it. Its not on the rim side though. I think it attached to the wheel well(not sure sorry). TPMS are the ones inside the tire (like mine).

Well now I am confused. The TPMS is inside the actual tire (not visible). The box maybe the TPM or it might be the magnets used to balance the tires. But following up on that is a start.

-EDIT_ sorry, miss read your post. Your correct. Although it would be hard to knock the TPMS loose. The until is attached to the tire stem (to inflate the tires)

I rode 22s with no tpms sensor for over a year. If the sensors are messed up or not in place all you get is a flat tire warning. The other system is called FTM I believe

You need to get back to that damn shop and show them the problem. The longer you drive around like that the easier it will be for them to make an excuse.

Also, I am not sure about your laws, but I know here in kentucky a tire shop is required by law to make sure the tpms sensors are working before releasing a car.

If one of those gets knocked out, you wont get an ABS light. You will get a TPMS error light or flat tire warning.

I hate to say this. But that really doesnt sound like it could be cause by anything the shop did. The left rear tire doesnt house anything to my knowledge. And the TPMS being possibly broken wont cause the car to spaz out like that. I almost want to say disconnect teh battery cables and reconnect them. I am at the max of my knowledge and ideas at this point. Kinda pissed that the shop is not atleast trying to help you.....

Disconnect the negative for 15 minutes. Just breaking the power loop and you wont shock yourself. No it wont mess anything up (or cause any further damage). Your in dash clock and date will reset. I dont know if it will help or do anything for you. But its worth a shot.

And the battery is located in the trunk, right side, under the car jack. If all this fails to fix it you will need to take it to a shop and have them clear the codes and then re-assess it after.
