Couldn't fight that urge anymore...

I will miss my F30 335i sorely, but the desire for an M was too overpowering. I picked up the following today:

2010 E90 M3
Jerez black metallic
Black Novillo extended leather
6MT
Carbon leather trim
Premium, Tech, Enhanced sound, PDC, Cold Weather, iPod/USB,Sat radio

20K miles. 13 mo warranty left.

First impression: what a beast. The V8 is symphonic, and the ride is absolutely visceral. The 335 was more elegant and comfortable, relaxed, but not nearly this fun. I wish I could have had both, but I couldn't convince the wife I needed two bimmers. I will miss the HUD. I won't miss the ASS. Complaints? Hmmm, nothing major. NVH is more then expected I suppose, but not terribly so. Gas mileage is as expected, burning through half a tank already shows me I'm going to be Sunoco's favorite customer. Less storage then the F30, if it can be believed. A little smaller in the backseat but still very usable for the kids.

It was a long and arduous search. There's not a whole lot of 10-11 E90 M3s with 6MTs out there right now.

All in all, very happy with my decision. Really glad to be back in a 6MT. I've read issues on here about the 6MT in the M3s, but I have none, shifts life a dream.

Congrats! If you are like me you will notice the extra NVH for a few days ( I came from an F10 which is even more plush and quite than the F30 )and then you will adapt and forget all about it. Left is just the spectacular driving experience and it really do work well with a family and as a daily commuter. I honestly haven't missed my F10 for a minute and I doubt I'll ever go back to such a luxury boat again. Enjoy!

Congrats! I know the feeling about searching for a sedan! To me it also looks the best as a body shape.

Congrats! I love the M3 sedan. Had it still been in production it would've been my choice vs. the coupe. I did search used vehicles but finding one with the equipment content (comp pkg, DCT, enhanced audio with no modifications) is very difficult. So I went new and ordered a coupe.

Thanks everyone!!

Candide13, your M is beautiful. I nearly pulled the trigger on a AW 11 sedan, but the 10 I picked up was a better deal, and I am a fan of JBM as well.

Nhman, E90 sedans are very hard to find. i understand why people who bought them, don't give them up. The performance the M3 sedan has with a usable trunk, seating for 5, and fold down rear seats??? that's just awesome.

Solstice...yeah, I expect it will take a few days to fully adjust, it's not bad, just more then the 335, which was quiet as a church mouse.

This thread is full of win! If the E90 M3 had been in production last July I would have preferred that over my E92 as well. Very minor complaint, though.

Congrats to the OP!

Dearbury, that would look good. I don't mind tasteful mods. I debated about keeping mine stock, since I love it the way it is. I'm only considering a couple possible mods: zhp weighted shift knob, m or Dinan exhaust, m or stop tech brakes.

Each day that passes, I am happier and happier with my decision. What an amazing vehicle.

44.9

Given the miles, condition, and how it was optioned, felt like a good price. I think the dealer realized he probably could have asked more for it after the fact.
