Aftermarket headlights

I'm wanting something a little brighter than my factory lights.

you have a 95 so you should have projectors already.

I've seen a few kits. I was wondering what other owners have put on their cars and how satisfied they are with results. I like the look of the smiley face eurostyle lights.

I have the Kensun kit from Amazon. I believe its the top seller for 9006 HD kits. Make sure you get the one with the slim electronic ballasts. Install was about 10 minutes once u figure where u want to put the ballasts. 9/10...and i can actually see the road now.

Before you convert lights not intended for hid bulbs, at least do some reading at danielsternlighting.com

I have Hella euro smileys with regular incandescent bulbs. They are incredibly bright, with high beams on they make daylight. I can see no reason to hack a set up to fit hid's.

Go euro smileys.
There are only two OEM manufacterers Hella or Bosch.
Not the cheap ebay versions or Depos.

I don't have them but I've seen some of the HID kits in smiley's that weren't too bad.

Halo's aka: Angel Eyes are crap. They are the ultimate in oxymoronic design and purpose for e34s.

Just a FYI (hopefully this will be the last thread with halo subject matter....doubt it)

Halo or Angel Eye headlamps were designed for later BMW models to pay homage to the older BMW models with the vintage design of the round headlights of early year models from 1995 back.

Here's where the punchline comes in.

That said, as a e34 owner.

You already have vintage round lights. Hopefully they are the projector versions.

SO....Why buy something, that looks like something, that pays homage to something that your trying to replace?

Doesn't that sound real stupid.

Save your coin buy some Hella smileys. If your lucky get some electric headlight adjusters with the dash switch and citylight aka E.T finger sockets.

You'd be pleasantly surprised on how good they look at night.

if your buying smileys, pay the extra and get brand new as well. they do still make them for the R34. when they are pitted they limit the output. i have regular smileys with some higher kelvin bulbs (but still normal incandescent. i find them great in the city/highways etc, but once you get out on the open road in the country side, they aren't so good. but you can in most cases use your highbeams anyways, and they are still bettter than a Corolla's etc of similar age
