They're only marginally comparable to one another. Firstly, there is a significant price differential, and more importantly, since I use the same wheels & tires year-round, the 140 treadwear rating of the R-S3 wouldn't be a very wise choice. The 280 tread wear of the V12s is already somewhat low (although mine are wearing great so far). Then there is the fact that since they are more track-oriented, they're less able to manage water than the V12s.

If I had a separate set of track wheels/tires, I'd consider the R-S3, but I needed something that would work in most situations here in Seattle. The R-S3 just wouldn't be as safe or long-lasting of a tire for daily driving.

Look into Dunlop Star Specs. Better rating than the RS3's(treadwear) and they grip extremely well. You can daily them as long as you don't ever go through snow.

There was obviously not much snow then. Because I've driven in snow with S Drives before and it's plain terrible.

It's back on page six... That's some hall of shame material. Who honestly looks at a BMW and says 'eh, I'll drop ludacris amounts of money into aesthetics, put some switches in it and get ALL the hunnies'

^This^

I've got Falken Ziex 912s for my DD tires and I have a second set of wheels with Hankook R-S3s for autoX and track. I don't have a comparison to the Hankook V12's but there is a mammoth performance difference between the 400 tread wear Falkens and the 140 tread wear R-S3s.

If that photo is looking toward the front of the car (I believe it is.....) then the tire in the photo is mounted correctly. The narrow leading edge of the "wedge" of the tread is pushing the water to the outside which is the correct orientation.

Mein Auto: 93 BMW 325is E36 2dr 5spd
93 325is New member

Whats up guys. Just wanted to introduce myself to the site. My name is Brian, Im 28, and just bought my first BMW. Ever since i first saw the E36 325is ive been in love. I always said I would own one. After searching for quite some time to find the right car for me. And many people selling the cars after telling me they would hold for a day or 2 so i could arrange pick up. Anyways Ive finally found the right one. Its a 93 325is 5 spd coupe, Red with Tan leather. 151,000. The car is mechancially excellent, only needs 1 shock (replacing all on tuesday). The body and interior are slighty rough. Which the exterior will be started on this week. I have to replace the hood (ordered one it will be here thursday), there is rust on the "side skirt" which i am replacing that this week also (weather permitting, i dont have a heated garage). The trunk lid has rust below the license plate. Which Ive decided to just replace it, I am going wednesday to see about a new one. Hopefully they have one. Wheels, body kit, paint and interior will be done with in the next 6 months. Stay updated to see the Transformation. Im open to any ideas when it comes to building the car. Id like advice on what parts are best for the car and my type of driving (eat the corners and go fast). [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]
