Comfort access recall software update destroyed my car

Took 2005 745li in for recall comfort software update and got my car back looking like damn Christmas in February with all the lights and codes flaring off...

I did not have a State Inspection or emission inspection monitor on my car but this was added in the Car Data screen and they were red indicating need service. My check engine light came on as I noticed the idling was much rougher than before they did the update. Check engine light was preceded by the Accelerate slow/ avoid heavy engine loads message. My brake fluid indicator was stating pass due but was not even on when I took it in,

My guess is the update triggered other stuff and screwed things up. I want them to fix my car from their software triggers without the BS of they are not accountable. Anybody else had this issue or a similar issue and please advise how you handled, your outcome, and/or best course of action.

If I may, I too want to ask a question under the same topic: Do our cars suppose to go under frequent updates like our computers, phones, and current electronic devices do? Usually, from what I've read, it seems we're only getting updates when something actually breaks or fails. Why arent we able to take our vehicles and get these updates BEFORE we have issues?
@ Edwartj, sorry, not trying to impose on your thread, just wanted to ask a similar question under the same thread topic. thanks

My dearship told me to steer clear of any updates. Once the software is loaded and they fault the module you have to replace it. $$$$$$$$

That being said that sucks your car is lit up do to BMW. I hope they are working with you to get this resolved.

WOW...I'm scheduled to have mine done next week. Guess I better do some more research. Just wondering if the dealership was able to work out the issues?

Maybe i am wrong, but maybe they drained all your battery while updating software or your alternator failed. I doubt the DME and comfort software goes to the same comp.

I've seen BMWs hooked up to the computer. I wanna say there's a battery tender integrated with the machine. Don't quote me on that though.
