Maybe you can give more in depth details as to what exactly you did?

Pics earlier show what I did,cut off the end of an aluminum pop rivet .The diameter I used fit perfectly down the tsats hole when disassembled.Somewhere between 1 and 2 mm long so that when reassembled tstat flap just seats.I will try and find link to corvette guys modding this way.

Checked my invoice and due date is march 21. Will call them in a few days.
Yes yes yes, extreme heat will kill your valve seals and all other seals.
The worst thing for n62 is a city driving. If you drive it on the hwy all the time, this car will last.
95C isn't gonna do anything bad

Awesome the two longest days of my life. (As far as this car goes) I will be setting a day aside to swap out my tstat, drain and replace with evans, and also spray berrymans b12 in my secondary air chambers and scrub with a pipe wire brush, then blow air through with this tool i made similar to what i saw in the thread by fratan. I plan on connecting the two with a rubber hose clamped on each side, then putting it at the top of the pipe on each head. I hope it will suffice. Still unsure whether i should remove the intake man for this and just replace it all. Might have to just to replace the plastic y hose either way. Then i will try to sell it to the right local buyer hopefully sometime soon

Great SFbay!I have my modded tstat working good but I still want a couple of yours for sure!Seems like mentioning temps being cause of so many short life problems on other forums either gets me a cold reception or out and out naysayers.I have not mentioned yours or my tstat as of yet.

So I still didn't get it where you inserted that shims.
I know for sure you can install m62 element into n62 tstat almost without issues, but tstat heater won't work.

When you have the tstat apart ,the hole in the element that the stem goes in.Just drop a shim in there. On another note I was reading some older engineering info on BMW V8s and the infamous sulfur causing cylinder liner destruction.Early 90s many BMW V8s had a recall BMW said sulfur was the cause and one of the fixes may have been to crank the engine temperature.

ID:	367707Boiler or wax motor sits at the bottom of this hole. When taking the element off separate from the house you can look down this hole. The housing will still have the pin or rod attached to it with the heat wires at the other end.The rod or pin is heated transferring the heat to the boiler or wax motor.

Hey what's going on with stact? I had a very small tranny leak. So I bought all gasket since I'm dropping the tranny. Did all gasket on tranny and rear main gasket on the back of the block and the pan on the cooling found that it was leaking.Click image for larger version

See I told everyone that this rear cover leaks very often. Mine was bad too. Good job, now you'll be fine for another 100k

That's awesome. I wish I had access to a lift that didn't involve labor rates

That's awesome. Doesn't seem like we're going to get those tstats. Can you let me know what you did to yours? I'd like to have those results as well.
