Unknown hose from independent heating

Hi all.

While pulling cylinder head apart, I decided to replace a hose that was brittle.

The car is a 525 (M50B25) from 1990/06. Being a euro-spec, supports a M50 and a independent heating system.

The hose connects the cylinder head to the water valve and as a T leading to a connection to the independent heating.

My installation is not exactly whats in the picture. Hoses 1, 3 and 4 along with T 2 its a single piece with no T. My hose is this one.

There are some numbers on the hose (64211XXX963 at least it's what it looks like) and the local BMW dealer crosses that reference and it turns out hose 8

Any one out there that can help me (and the dealer) to track the hose. Maybe a later 525 with M20 as it.

Thanks for all the help.

Best regards

Fernando

I have a brand new one sitting at the UPS store waiting for me to pick it up. Funny thing is, I no longer have the car LOL..... I will pick it up today and take a pic of it, Shipping to your country will be costly though??? Not too much though because it is so light???

Sorry I was unable to take the photo last night. I am busy unpacking from my move. I was able to get to the UPS store and pick it up though. I will make sure I get a photo to you tonight.

Hi Andy.

The hose seems a bit different, especially on lenghts.

I'm sending a picture of the one installed. For the shipping, I think I can use a military box from New York.

Cheers

Fernando

I think this is your part number??? 64211391964.

From the photo, it looks like some one cut up a molded hose and used it for something else. The hose in your pic looks like it has had sections cut off. that hose should have flanged ends on it and be quite a bit longer in spots. Just make one with a "T" fitting and three sections of hose. Look at the diagram in the link. Nothing resembles that peice in your pic.

Hi Andy

The installed hose is a original part number, altought, as you mention might be installed on different place.

Mine does the job of #1, #2, #3 and #4 on diagram. Even the local dealer is confused. The part number that you supplied I think it's for another function.

There are two rigid connections that pass beneath the car to the independent system. These one is connected to one of them, linked to the water valve and cylinder head.

Cheers

Fernando

In your case, the easyest thing to do is just make one using a "T" fitting and be done with it. It will work fine.

By the way, I am Trevor.

Hi Trevor.

First of all, my apologizes for the confusion. I was reading another thread and the name glued to my head. So sorry about that. My apologizes.

I think that's the best way to go. Is it easy to mold a hose for the cornering?? With heat, maybe??

That kind of books are also populating the shelves.

Cheers

Fernando
