wait all this time dude had a 535i? I thought he said 530?
Anyway. What everyone is saying is correct.

Maintenance before performance. Can't be stressed enough.
Well break time is over.
The water heater in my home blew up and I have to finish cleaning up the two inch pond in my basement.

Good luck and enjoy the car.

if ur 15 and have a limited budget and this is your only car dont even thing about turboing. its a very expensive process and in a 20+ year old car its going to rape you money wise. the tranny rear end, and suspension arent gonna take it without being refreshed. and you need to rebuild the old engine to do it right. it doesnt make much sense to spend 3-4k on parts to put it on an engine and only run 5-7lbs. Do it right and run 15-30psi. such a build takes money though.

My best advice would be to stick to suspension mds, and some nice wheels. That will give you a much more rewarding experience and will give you what you need mofre than big hp numbers i.e. great reliable driving car with excellect handling.

Use the money you save to take your girl out or buy tools to keep your ride running enjoy your life and when you graduate college buy a 535i.

All that said who am i kidding i was 15 once twin turbo that ****ts lol

Re: Increase HP 1992 535i?

After all of my maintenance is in check, I may consider a chip. I'll check with snowsled to see what he has in his car .But other than that I don't find anything else necessary (Not saying that the chip is necesarry lol) . I may get a magnaflow muffler since mine is need of replacement and its cheaper than OEM muffler.

Haha, I wasn't even thinking about the top speed limiter, I forgot it could do that.

Remove what limiter?

Stock E34 535i will do an honest 140 mph on regular gas and V-rated tires.

How much faster does one possibly need to go??

Haha yeah, my dad did like 120 MPH in it once (before i owned the car). But I'm not worried about top speed because i will most likely not be speeding, I'm just looking to get a little increase in acceleration maybe.

I wouldn't mind having a M60B40 although it is quicker than the 535i I am just happy to have the "Big Six". I'm not sure if I'll go turbo ine the future (although it would be a great option), but I will try to give it a little accerlaration boost when the time comes.
