Which exact bulbs did you get? I ordered some Mtecs and they would just flash on a few times and would then go out. I returned them. They were MT-615's.

I'm pretty sure he went with the Philips 5000K. Is that correct TXSTYLE?

I am surprised to see full sets of Akebono sets advertised on tirerack. I spoke to Akebono as the are made close to where I live in Louisville, KY. They told me that they are not going to make rear pads. They sent me a free set of the EUR1409 Front pads. So I am a bit concerned if the rears listed here actually fit.
TXSTYLE, let me know if these rears do fit when you try to install. I have them on order and should be here in a few days. I guess I will certainly use the fronts. The rears I guess are still questionable.

Ha! That worked out well for ya. But notice how much further out they sit in the rear on your car vs a e65!
Now add to that a couple inches and you get an idea how my VOSSEN would sick out.

Wow great looking car, Enjoy!!!
I was looking for white initially but then stumbled upon a dark graphite one and just bought it, but man i love the white too.

If its not too personal, may i ask how many miles and a ball park of price you paid for this beauty? (Feel free not to answer that)

I have emailed Tirerack and Akebono for an answer on this. I had planned on using the fronts but would like to use Akebonos on the rears also. They were the best mod I did on my E65.

Guys... Do the eyes take 1 or 2 bulbs???
Because if it's just one, the type I ordered are going back lol. The light color was better but not bright at all. I'm thinking it takes two per side?

It's one bulb per headlamps. Don't have to remove the bumper like we did on e65.

If you ordered with F01 offsets, which I assume you did, you will be fine.

That is the problem! The only real option for brightness is HID, but apparently those can damage the rings over time is what others are telling me. Non 2013 F01 owners apparently have very little options sadly from what I can tell. :-(

Those were absolute the easiest light install of ANY car I ever owned!
They screwed us on the e65!
I'm gonna keep searching for some bulbs...

edit... Had they used two bulbs per side would've worked much better. Better yet... For their flagship car, it should have eyes like the F10!

The very first items onthe page (front and rear come in sets) Total should be $150

It will be the BEST $150 you ever invest in this car. I have ran 3 sets previously.

I heard back from Akebono and the information on Tirerack.com is incorrect. Akebono does not make and has no plans to make rear brake pads for this vehicle. The pads advertised (EUR919) are actually E65 pads up to model year 2008. You can use the Akebono front pads but will have to use some other ceramic pad for the rear such as Stoptech or Hawk. I am as disappointed as you are. I have put the Akebonos on all of the other 3 BMW's I have had.

Blah! Thanks for the info. Now I have to go through the trouble of sending these back. Do you have model # for the rears from Stoptech or Hawk by chance? What did you do for the rears?

I have not put the pads on yet. My car is still in the body shop being repaired for damage sustained at the dealer (another post). I will check a few places tomorrow and post back with the best options for rear ceramic pads.

Sooo brotha Marcus, I see you have the Vossen plate on your lovely new F01. Should we consider this a preview of things to come?
