2013 Porsche - Best Performance Luxury Brand
BMW wrested this trophy from Porsche a couple times, but this is essentially Stuttgart's award. Even when Porsche's entry isn't the fastest car in the class, it's always the winner in driving feel. And feel equals fun, which is the purest point of performance.

2013 BMW Brand Image Awards: Best Overall Luxury Brand
BMW didn't win any of the individual Luxury Brand awards, but it takes home the title of Best Overall Luxury Brand on the strength of a well-rounded image that appeals to young and old, sporty and showy alike.

MB the most refined luxury brand? Is that based on perception or actual refinedness?

See, when the Government spends money, it creates jobs; whereas when the money is left in the hands of Taxpayers, God only knows what they do with it. Bake it into pies, probably. Anything to avoid creating jobs. - Dave Barry

According to the dictionary, refine means exact, precise. developed, evolved, improved, progressive or advanced. In my opinion, those adjustives describes the latest BMW lineup, not Mercedes.

There's always a lot of patronage going on behind the scenes with these KB Book and Edmunds superlatives. There always a mention of everyone somehow I don't put much into awards by review firms that accept advertising dollars from the companies being reviewed.

That's total BS which makes me think it's based on perception. The F10 runs circles around the E-Class in refinement in all aspects, I can attest to first hand. The C-Class facelift puts up a strong fight with its revamped interior which replaced the horrid POS interior in the W204 pre-facelift (which is a big knock against the refinement of M-B in itself as how can a brand be "refined" when they put out things so substandard they themselves about-face and admit it needs to be revamped significantly, like the C-Class interior or now the E-Class exterior, which not to mention screws initial buyers who entrusted the brand initiaally), so it keeps it close with the F30's decent interior.

I have a feeling they're using the S-Class as a gauge, who still puts up a remarkable fight against anything thrown at it, in terms of refinement.

Heh I do agree that the f10 would run circles around the e-class lol.

Does anyone think Buick is a a luxury brand? Value and Luxury shouldn't be used in the same sentence. If one wants to stay at a luxury hotel the first thought shouldn't be: Hhhmmm, I wonder if that oceanview room at the Ritz Carlton will be a bargain? If you want value the Marriott is down the street. The Ritz-Carlton will be a more luxurious choice. Just like BMW is.

Acura and Buick: neither here nor there.

Compared to a base model Chevy the Buick is a "VALUE" luxury car/SUV nowadays.
