Yes. If you have not yet signed any paper work they cannot legally keep your money. You can ask for it back. I am in sales myself, asking for a check makes ppl feel as if they have bought the car and typically will not ask for it back. It's a sales pitch. You'll be fine.

How did you pay "in full money"? Cash? A check? If a check, what did you write on the check? A check with the right information on it, signed by both parties CAN constitute a valid, binding contract. Did you get a receipt for the money? If so, what did the receipt say, and did both you and the seller sign the receipt?

CA has a 3 day law where you can change your mind (w/in 3 days) on any contract you sign.

This is often a mistaken belief. In fact, the California Office of Consumer Affairs website lists contracts that can or cannot be rescinded and the first one on the list:

A. Automobile Sales and Leases -- There is no statutory cancellation period for automobile sales or leases.

However, having said that, car dealers very seldom force a consumer to buy a car they don't want. It just doesn't make good business sense regardless of the legality.

Car dealer in LA is not doing good business, so I went to the dealer out of the LA county.

If you did not sign the contract you are entitled to your money back in full

This thread demonstrates why you can't depend on the web for legal advice.

Wang101, don't panic. Probably you will not have any problems. But, at the first sign of a problem, go see a lawyer.

If the car is truly a BMW CPO vehicle it is probably going to be mechanically o.k. and you may like it!
