Whistling noise at 80+ MPH???

Everyone I have a question I've noticed that at times when doing over 80, I get a whistle type noise coming from the dash somewhere, almost like wind is getting in somewhere

Anyone else have a similar issue?

I had that same issue when I first got my car! Sounded like someone blowing through one of those old plastic toy flutes kids used to play with. It was coming from the middle of the dash consistently at about 80mph for about a month after I got it, but it hasn't done it since. I know I've played around with the cabin filters a couple of times since then (cleaning them and spraying the A/C coil with Lysol), so maybe the filter covers weren't secured tightly when i got it?

My car did this too when I first got it, but not until about 100mph.
I was pressing all the buttons including recirc to no avail, I even turned it off.
It was hard to duplicate the issue because of the speed, but since my cross country trips I have been able to hit triple digit speeds and didn't get it anymore. It may have something to do with the cabin filters because I changed those out before the journey.
I never found out the exact cause though.

I had the same issue with my 535i last year and I finally tracked it down to the cabin filter on the driver side not being seated properly. Once I removed it and seated the housing properly I've never had that high speed whistle again (knock on wood).

Thanks guys, I'll look at the cabin filters and see if that's the case.

Also can be windshield trim. Especially if it had ever been replaced. An easy test is to cover the trim with blue painters tape.
