Let me Stump You - '99 Z3 2.3 Inst. Cluster Question

I haven't been able to find or source this part anywhere - let's see who the smart guy/gal is....

Part is referred to as Speedometer Upper and Speedometer Lower - its the black ring around the outside of the Inst. Cluster. Somehow my bottom half is missing & I want to replace as I stare at it every time I drive my rig. Problem is - I can't find this part even at realOEM. My guess it is part of the IC OEM assembly - but - holding out hope.

ANY input greatly appreciated - thanks!

Are you referring to the instrument cluster gauge rings? You might want to consider upgrading to the chrome set.

Negative - this is outside the speedometer/instrument housing ... a squat-oval ring that I think is actually a top and bottom half. Black in color, plastic and a bear to find.

It is not apparent, at least to me, what is missing from the photo of the cluster you posted. If the bezel is broken, you'll need to find another cluster and insert your guts into the cluster housing.

You're kidding? I need the black ring - the trim piece around the protective glass if the cluster unit.

Still not 100% on what you're considering to be "trim" as the front black piece is one piece. Follow the pictures in this thread as the owner takes the cluster apart. I asked for your photo because I wanted to see how the "trim" was broken. I've never heard of this happening before. The back blue part comes away from the black front part. I'm assuming you need the entire front black part which includes the clear lens.

Interesting - so it looks from your post and the description that the front glass piece on the cluster is where the trim is affixed & that it is not a separate piece - my 'bottom' of the bezel is missing - 5" I would guess right in the center bottom. So I am trying to find what I need to replace to get that visual off of my inst. cluster.

Any front bezel from an e36 cluster should fit. I'd just shop ebay for a non-working cluster and swap out the front.
