It does, doesn't it? Very cohesive. If you're going OTT on the color, you should do so on the whole car.

After I posted the link I saw that :/ I think with a nice set of black wheels, it may help it. also, the pink 7 looks pretty nice to me for some reason.

I actually saw the same one in-person at the Century West BMW in Studio City. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea. I personally didn't like it and I have a feeling it's going to be hard unload a F01 in this color when the time comes. It's also gonna stick out like a sore thumb on the highway and quickly become a ticket magnet. :-)

In some ways, I hope they do sell it soon for a good price. While not my taste, I do support the notion that dealerships try to get different cars in and show the possibilities for BMW beyond the usual silver, black and blue.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a customer says it wants a Laguna Seca Blue 7 Series, dealer takes a deposit ($1,000?), places an order, car arrives, but the customer says it's reconsidered, dealer is required to give back the deposit and is stuck with the car? This is the very reason US dealers turn a blind eye to BMW Individual orders, right? Would the deposit be returned in Europe?

Funny...I think if i were the dealer i'd ask for a 10k deposit on that one.

Yes, $5k is probably more in-line, but regardless of the amount, must the dealer refund it?

It may be covered by CA state law. My understanding in CA is that deposits are fully refundable. That is a possibility in this case.

I read a post where Center BMW in Sherman Oaks CA refused to custom order a 3 series without a moonroof, even with a deposit. In case the purchaser pulled out and they were stuck with that car. Here's the post from 2003 - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42233

So many damn 3 series are sold in LA everyday that I'm sure they'd be able to move one without a sunroof ... at least sooner then they'd sell that Papa Smurf 7 series! Sometimes I seriously can't get over the # of 3-series I see around here everyday. If one were ever inclined to rob a bank and needed a getaway car that would be hard to differentiate from everyone else on the road, a 4 door 328 would certainly be it.

Sounds similar to NYC and the S-Class; one of the reasons I went 7 Series.

Interesting, I tend to see a massive abundance of C250s when I'm out in LA.

They seem to be as abundant as Camry's out in the suburbs.

on most cars you can get the refund back, but on a LSB 7 i'd require a 5-10k Non refundable deposit. You can move that car quicker for a 10k discount to the right person if the original customer declines to buy it.

Just found this: http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/...r-deposits-121

So not sure what the hold up with US dealers and BMW Individual orders is; a sizeable deposit should satisfy any concerns.

Policies may vary state to state, however...
