What kind of people drive an E30?

Hey there, i bought my e30 2month ago, every time i tell someone or someone sees me in it, they get in shock n started asking what happened and why am i driving a car like that, its a great looking red coupe with a perfect paint job, nothing fancy or wow ( just starting on her, it)
Plus two police cars stopped me and started searching for drugs and ****, they said that only bad ass guys drive these kind of cars, so i was wondering who really drive this kind of beauty?
I dont really care what people think, this car was my dream since i was 13( thats almost 15years ago) and i finally got it, i enjoy driving her more than any car i have ever driven and honestly i regret not buying her a long time ago, i own an infiniti m37x, chrysler town&country and had a lot of cars before from x5 4.8, fx35, qx56, w124 e500 n more small sedans BUT THIS E30 IS THE BEST EVER
So am i mistaken or only drug dealers own this car???

Hmmm.. I only see old people driving them in Ohio. Every now and again I'll see one setup for track, but nothing thats ever drug dealer worthy lol. I think the cops were just curious what you had in your car.

Unfortunately it's a similar situation here in Malta. Some of them are still owned by old people, the others are owned by young low budget people with the aim of ricing it up. Which means some of them look horrible...just like mine does right now.

Gotta start somewhere tho.. Get it looking nice and sounding right.. The fuzz will prolly leave you alone after that. Although even in my e36 that was showroom condition, i'd get hassled by the Po-Po.

Looking at creating a bit of a sleeper myself, the fuzz will most likely not bother me while cruising if it looks mint.

Man there are hardly any around where I live. I only know of 2 others that i see. A FL 325i owned by an mechanic thats lowered. And a FL 318is owner by another old guy by my work.

It surprised me that I dont see them at all really.

old people or kids who ruin them. drug dealers here normally go for the 7 series of chevy tahoes or caddies.

and in iowa, ive only seen 2 good ones and one sits in a driveway rarely driven and the other was outside a shop. besides that mostly rusted and not worth lookin at

There are simply loads of 190E Mercs here, they have retained their value as well. A 190 in good condition will set you back 3-4 times as much as an E30 in good condition. We're talking around 4k - 7k Euro.

yeah 190E are worth roughly half as much again as a similar spec E30. i tried getting into building them like i build E30s, but Mercedes parts are astronomical compared to most other manufacturers including these early BMWs. nice cars to drive though, much better than an E30 for cruising long distance etc. I had an AMG kitted 2.0L auto 190E for a while. but they are almost all had it here. you see the occasional minty E30 still, but VERY rare to see a nice 190E still

My father insisted on me getting a 190E instead of an E30. I did see a very nice white E30 (318 IIRC) last Sunday, still in factory condition, belonging to what seemed like a man in his 60s.

I was assuming when I saw it that it might have been purchased by him, it looked pretty nice and clean. There are some E30s that are only out on Sundays and kept in garages since their purchase. The unlucky thing here is most of them have had their engines swapped for 2.0L Toyota diesels.
