what does the number on your wheen means??

i have a style 42 and i need to find out what do those number on it mean. all i know is i run 265/35/18 on my rear and i get a little bit of rubbing.

on top of my wheel i can see18/23x18EH2 in between the bolts what does this mean? im assuming this is the size?

another question is i have another set which 7x17 right now it has 205/50/17 on it and i want my rubber to go wider... how wide can i go with wheel that has 7x17???

The widest I would suggest on a 7'' wheel would be 225

The sidewall of the tire would probably flex/bubble out too much.

Width is measured inside lip to inside lip. Diameter is bead seat to bead seat (you didn't ask, but I threw that in there for free )
