Seafoam testimonial

I finally passed CA smog after failing it the first time.
HC and NO were over the limits (@ 15MPH)

I then seafoamed, airfilter change, and tighten up the intake plumbing, then smogged.
Failed again b/c gas cap leaking. Numbers were passing.

3rd time with new cap was all pass. Interestingly in a span on 1hr between 2nd time and 3rd, HC and NO dropped again significantly.

I'll post numbers later for those whom are curious. Right now I'm dead tired and don't have the papers handy.

Seafoam is GREAT stuff!
It was invented for the first hi output outboard motors in the late 50's early 60's. There was a partial teardown needed every approx. 50 hrs of use. The oil (2 stroke) wasn't very good, and had to be mixed at 24 to 1 initially, later on 32 to 1. That as u can imagine (especially in 2 strokes) was a huge amount of unburned mixture (= carbon)buildup. So remove head, or detonation would wreck the new engines. Mercury had inline 6 cyl, and OMC had V4 configuration.

Seafoam dissolves carbon (and other unburned fuel residues) EXTREMELY well. So well, that it allowed tech's to simply pour it into the cyls (through spark plug holes) and turn over engines every few hours for a couple days. This unstuck the usually stuck 2nd piston rings, as well as dissolved carbon residues to a level the engines ran correctly again.

We used it on our boats as there was a annual race at Lake Martin (ALABAMA) annually July 4th and Labor Day. from the power plant wires to the bridge. Notable boaters were Coach Bear Bryant, potential and current Alabama football players Dr Rose (then University President) anda couple of, if not the wealthiest Bama supporters, Frank McGough (Largest Chevy dealer in Bama then), Winton Blount of Blount International (construction) and (then) buddy of Nixon and appointed Postmaster General of USA.

Dad had (as well as Uncle Inge) one of the first v4 Johnson outboards, and was in it till the end. Usually McGough won it with his 500+ cu inch twice 4 barreled carbed inboard! Gas was 20 cents a gallon, so NOT an issue..

ANYWAY Seafoam allowed all this nonsense but HUGE FUN!! to work, for a bit less hassle (and work/expense) of head removal every 50 hrs!

It cleans the deposits left on injectors, allowing the fuel to inject finer and more atomized, and cleaning your cat converter bu burning cleaner once fuel is spraying small drops again!
I use it every 3 months or so...If you have a hard to start Chain saw (or any older 2 stroke) that's not injected oil, its probably got a stuck or sticking at least 2 nd ring, allowing blow by at low speed, losing vacuum and hmaking for hard starting, bad or no idling, remove plug, pour in an ounce turn over and repeat every few hrs..It will run as new again...
